Features
The Knox Customization Configurator is built on top of the Samsung Knox Standard SDK and the Knox Customization SDK, and includes additional features such as device enrollment and license activation. The figure below provides an overview of the Knox Customization Configurator features and architecture.
There are 4 major features of Knox Customization Configurator:
Device configuration
The Knox Customization Configurator provides a rich set of options to configure the devices to meet your requirements. You can configure the home screen, settings, display, sound, and connectivity for your devices.
Professional Kiosk Mode
The Knox Customization Configurator allows you to turn a phone or tablet into a single-purpose device by enabling Professional Kiosk mode.
Professional Kiosk Mode is an evolution of the kiosk mode service introduced with the Knox Standard SDK (formerly known as the SAFE E-SDK). In Professional Kiosk Mode, the device is typically locked down to a single app (or a set of apps). You can place other restrictions on the device, for example:
- Restricting access to Android settings
- Disabling S-Voice
- Disabling task switching
- Disabling Google search
- Disabling the task bar disabled (or hiding it if required)
- Limiting the ability to modify other system operations while in Professional Kiosk mode
Content and app management
You can push your own content or apps to devices using the Knox Customization Configurator without using a third-party service. Upload all your content and apps to Knox Customization Configurator server, and when the device is all set up, content will be pushed from the server to the device.
Knox License Activation
With the Knox Customization Configurator, you can activate Knox licenses remotely and wirelessly without physically accessing the device.
