Sample - To configure an education tablet

To configure a tablet for classroom use, follow the steps and checklist below to get started:

  1. Do you want to pre-load content, such as libraries and media content to the device?
  2. Do you want to prevent students from installing apps from Google Play or unknown resources?
  3. Do you want to disable adb to stop students pushing any files or content to the tablet?
  4. Do you want to prevent students from connecting USB storage to the tablets?
  5. Do you want to prevent students from making changes to the device Settings?
    • NOTE − If you don’t prevent users from making changes to the Settings menu, they can undo your settings from steps 2 and 3.
  6. Do you want the tablet to connect only to pre-defined Wi-Fi access points?

Checklist

  • Add apps and content.
  • Disable Google Play.
  • Disable apps from unknown sources.
  • Disable adb connectivity
  • Disable USB host storage
  • Disable changes to device settings
  • Network (SSID, password) settings

If you need a more a restricted environment (e.g. tablets used during exams), you can set the device to Professional Kiosk Mode after the Single-Purpose Device steps.
